3 Handheld Software Radio DARPA

ITO Sponsored Research Software radio technology promises to eliminate existing radio interoperability problems, provide a path for rapidly incorporating advances in digital communications, and enable new applications and waveforms that take advantage of the tremendous flexibility with the SpectrumWare project which has demonstrated that it is possible to perform all of the signal processing required for many wideband radio applications entirely in the application level software.
